“Gracias a la vida” Limon ROtisserie in San Francisco, CA 2020

The Limon Mural is a tribute to the indigenous peoples, plants and animals that provide nourishment for us all. The mural’s centerpiece features two chickens, to honor their lives. A jaguar, llama and condor were incorporated into the mural to symbolize the importance of the Andes for inspiring the Peruvian fusion food served at Limón Rotisserie. The monarch butterflies flying across the mural represent people moving North to South, and is also in honor of the people who work behind the scenes at the restaurant. I am communicating back to the Mission what I have gathered over the last ten years being a part of the neighborhood.”“El Barrio de Donde Soy” , the place where I grew up. My desire with this piece is to illustrate a time line for how our ancestors (right side of mural) honor and produce food and how we are nurturing our food practices now today (left side of mural).

The 2017 Summer Search mural was about celebrating community. The hands symbolize bringing community together in order to get young people into the wild, and highlighting the unifying power of nature to strengthen young people. As a Summer Search alumni , I was beyond excited to give back to a community organization that empowered me with so much strength towards my path as an artist.

The Homeless Prenatal Program is a nationally-recognized family resource center in San Francisco that empowers homeless and low-income families, particularly mothers motivated by pregnancy and parenthood, to find within themselves the strength and confidence they need to transform their lives. We serve over 3,500 low-income and homeless families annually, providing a variety of programs and services to help families become healthy, stable and self-sufficient. The Mural was a tribute to the power of motherhood and to bring forth strong vibrant children.
